Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My cycles usually range from 32 to 33 days, and my last period began around the second week of this month. Please help me figure out which days are likely to be safe.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It is great to hear from you.
I understand that you would like help calculating your safe days for intercourse. We are happy to support you in making informed choices about your reproductive health.
Based on a regular cycle length of 32 to 33 days, your fertile window typically falls between day 14 and day 22 of your cycle. This means that your safer days for intercourse would be:
Before day 14.
After day 22.
You are less likely to get pregnant during days one to 13 and after day 22. You are more likely to conceive between days 14 and 22.
However, it is important to understand that cycle tracking is not a guaranteed method of birth control, especially if your cycles are irregular. Also, sperm can live inside the body for up to five days, so even intercourse on days nine to 13 may carry a risk of pregnancy.
Safe days do not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The only method that reduces both pregnancy and STI risk is using a condom. For more reliable pregnancy prevention, consider combining methods like condoms and birth control pills.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert so I can assist you further.
