Can missing a Meprate 10 mg tablet delay the period?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I took Meprate 10 mg to delay my period but missed the fourth tablet by about an hour. My period last month lasted eight days, but this month, I have been spotting and have not had a full period yet. I am 25 years old, unmarried, and have a history of PCOS, which is currently well-controlled. I am on Thyroid 25 mg and have used Meprate 10 mg for this issue before. Kindly guide.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Your delayed period may be due to a hormone imbalance from the contraceptive pills (birth control pills). I suggest doing a hormone profile test and sharing the results with me. In the meantime, take one Norethisterone 5 mg tablet daily for one month.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
