Metronidazole

Metronidazole is an antibiotic and antiprotozoal medication and is used to treat infections caused by bacteria and some protozoa. It is commonly used for pelvic inflammatory disease, bacterial vaginosis, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, trichomoniasis, and amebiasis. It belongs to the group of drugs called Nitrimidazole.
