Micturating Cysto-urethrogram

A micturating cystourethrogram (MCU) is an imaging test that uses X-rays used to check the bladder and urethra while passing urine. This test is performed to check if the urine goes from the bladder back up to the kidneys instead of going out through the urethra, known as vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). This test is commonly performed on children aged under six months and sometimes in older children and adults with multiple recurrent urinary tract infections.
