Patient's Query

Hello doctor.

I observed a mole in my inner thigh or groin region. It worries me, and I would like to know if I should see a doctor. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. It looks to be a grade 4 atypical dysplastic nevi (mole). Indeed, a dermoscopy check is required to rule out cancer. To reach a clear diagnosis, a large excisional biopsy is necessary. To detect changes in borders or margins' color size or elevation, self-observation is required. Melanoma risk factors include a history of severe sunburn, the use of tanning beds, pale skin tone, the senior population, multiple nevi, chemotherapy, and exposure to dangerous UV radiations. Avoid the midday sun, use sun protection measures, use broad-spectrum sunscreen, and wear protective clothing or suncote. Malignancy has a sixty percent chance. I suggest you perform a biopsy to rule out cancer.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
