Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

What you are describing sounds very much like premenstrual symptoms (PMS), especially since your daughter started puberty early (at nine years old) and is now experiencing mood changes and abdominal pain.

Signs she might be getting her first period soon:

  1. Mood swings and irritability: Hormonal changes can make her more emotional, moody, or distant.

  2. Lower abdominal cramps: Mild cramping or bloating is common before the first period.

  3. Breast tenderness: Some girls feel soreness before their cycle starts.

  4. Vaginal discharge changes: If she has had white or yellowish discharge for months, that is a sign her period is near.

  5. Body changes: Growth spurts, increased sweating, and oilier skin or hair are all common before menstruation.

What can you do to support her?

  1. Talk to her comfortably: Let her know what to expect about her period and reassure her that mood swings are normal.

  2. Prepare period supplies: Get pads, pantyliners, and maybe a heating pad for cramps. Show her how to use them.

  3. Encourage a healthy diet and hydration: Balanced meals and plenty of water can ease cramps and mood swings.

  4. Monitor her pain: If cramps get severe, last longer than a week, or if she has other unusual symptoms (fever, vomiting, extreme fatigue), check with a doctor.

It is completely normal for this phase to feel unpredictable, but your support and reassurance will mean everything to her.

I hope this has helped you.

Please feel free to reach out to me again if you have further queries.

Thank you.
