Hello doctor,

I have had a lot of anxiety since having an MRA scan for tinnitus last week. Now my left thigh has a weird feeling when I stand. There is no pain, just a flutter in the front part of the left thigh. I checked on the internet that MRA dye could be dangerous. I was told it was safe. Now I am worried about having toxicity to it. My anxiety could be causing the sensation too. I have had anxiety for years. Currently, I am taking Flecinade, Methimazole, Crestor, and Buspirone.

Yes, it is a safe procedure, and the dye is also safe and is injected to make blood vessels visible. Sometimes dye or contrast injected into the body can cause allergic reactions in susceptible individuals, but usually, they are mild and do not last long. If someone has a history of kidney disease, then a kidney function test is obtained before injecting the dye into the body. You have mentioned you are a healthy individual otherwise, so you do not have to be anxious about the side effects of the contrast. Also, a flutter-like sensation in front of the left thigh is unrelated to MRA. Therefore, you need not worry about MRA or contrast. Do not worry about the result too much; rather, patiently wait for it.
