Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had CBC (complete blood count) labs done three weeks ago and they came back perfect. A week or so ago, my resistance got low because I have a 9-month-old baby and a pregnant wife. So, I was running around doing everything. So, I went to the doctor and told them I was coughing a bit and also not feeling well. They did a CBC again, and two things came back bad. Lymphs (absolute) were 4.7, and neutrophils (absolute) were 0.4.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com
I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.
I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.
Your lymphocyte count is high, a condition called lymphocytosis. Because of lymphocytosis, neutrophils are relatively low. A temporary viral infection like viral flu is a common cause of elevated lymphocytes. Moreover, you are having a cough also. Hence viral upper respiratory tract infection is the most common possibility. Your auscultation should be done for the examination. Decongestants can be given, and you should drink more water. Repeat CBC (complete blood count) after a week, if still lymphocytosis is present, then we will think of further possibilities.
I hope your concern is solved.
Thank you for consulting me.
