Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have noticed a grey stain on my bra where my nipple touches the fabric. It is present on both sides.

Why is this happening?

I have changed my old bra, but it is still happening.

Should I worry about this?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It could be breast secretions.

Do you have any menstrual irregularities, pain in the breast, weight gain, or headache?

Check out other symptoms as well. Increased prolactin level, local abscess, or inflammation could be a reason for this. Go for breast examination with a specialist and have your serum prolactin level tested.

If prolactin comes high, you might need further investigation (if you are not taking antidepressants, then you might need an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) brain to exclude any space-occupying lesions).

In case of any local lesion, inflammation, or abscess, it needs to be sorted out during the examination. Increased prolactin level needs medications, but first, it needs to confirm with a test on the second day of the period.

Go for test serum prolactin test and then discuss the report here or with a local endocrine gynecologist. Maintain local hygiene.

Wear soft and comfortable undergarments.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
