Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am seeking your guidance regarding the health concern of a 35-year-old female patient who is experiencing symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). She is experiencing intrusive thoughts, images, or urges (obsessions) that cause significant anxiety or discomfort in her. She also has a habit of excessive handwashing or cleaning due to fear of contamination. She also has a habit of counting or repeating specific words, phrases, or actions to prevent negative outcomes. What would be the most suitable treatment plan for this OCD? Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for your query. I read your query and understood your concern.
Thank you for taking help from a psychiatrist. I can understand your concern about your relative. She has to start taking medication like a capsule of Fluoxetine 20 mg daily in the morning after breakfast. It will help her deal with the issue. I hope you got the answer to your query. Please let me know if you want any further help. I can give you a prescription if you do a video consultation. As per the Telemedicine rules of the Government of India, I cannot give a prescription without a video consultation.
I hope my advice will be helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.
Thank you.
