Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I want to enhance my looks and make my face look symmetrical. I underwent orthognathic surgery in the past and got chin fillers and jawline fillers. I am very consious about my looks. Is there anything else that I can go for for better facial appearance?

Kindly advise.

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com.

I empathize with your aesthetic concerns regarding the facial contour. I hope you asked your dentist about presurgical orthodontic treatment before orthognathic surgery, as there will be limitations in correcting skeletal deformity without presurgical orthodontic treatment. This occurs due to improper positioning of the teeth. Therefore, if you have got the orthodontic alignment of your teeth done and then the surgery and you are seeking an alternative treatment for the betterment of the looks, I have to give you a different treatment plan. If you have not got presurgical orthodontic treatment before orthognathic surgery, then that is the first line of therapy you need to go for aesthetic correction.

I would be happy to help further.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

I am sharing my X-rays before and after treatment for your reference.

Hello, Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the X-rays (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). As you have not clarified whether you have got the orthodontic treatment done or not, I suggest the second line of treatment, distraction osteogenesis. Distraction osteogenesis is a surgical procedure done along with intermaxillary fixation when an orthognathic procedure fails to give the desired outcome. I suggest you consult a maxillofacial surgeon or an orthodontist and ask whether this procedure can rectify the fullness of the facial contour.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
