Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 19 years old. From childhood, I have had a habit of crossing my legs whenever I have to stop myself from urinating. Now the problem is this whenever I try to masturbate normally, it does not happen. But if I do cross-leg, there is an ejaculation with proper lubrication. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

The cross-legged position is used to hold urine whenever there is the urge to pass urine. This is usually seen in girls with overactive bladder, less commonly in boys. If your evaluation shows an overactive bladder, bladder training and some medications will help. Ejaculation involves the contraction of pelvic muscles and muscles around the urine tube to expel semen. You will have to understand how this happens and then learn the correct method. Usually, this is natural but you might have to learn to contract the right muscles.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
