Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 22-year-old female, trying to get pregnant for almost two months. I am regular on my cycle, but the thing is, every time I try to have sex, I feel pain, and there is sperm in my urine.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I completely understand your concern.
Pain during sex and seeing sperm in your urine are not normal, and both can affect your chances of getting pregnant. I will explain what this likely means in a simple way and then ask only the most important questions.
Pain during sex usually happens because of one of these reasons:
Vaginal dryness: This can cause burning or sharp pain with penetration. A yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or a urinary infection can cause pain and discomfort during sex.
Cervical inflammation: If the cervix is irritated, deep penetration can be painful.
Pelvic issues: Conditions like ovarian cysts or endometriosis can cause pain during intercourse.
Regarding your concern about sperm in your urine, what you are seeing is usually not sperm mixing with urine inside your bladder. Instead, it is semen leaking out of the vagina after sex and mixing with the urine or coming out when you sit on the toilet. This is normal and does not reduce your chances of pregnancy. Semen leaking out is expected and does not mean all the sperm has left your body.
To help you better, I need to ask a few questions:
Is the pain at the opening of the vagina or deeper inside?
Do you have itching, a bad smell, or unusual discharge?
Do you feel burning when you pee?
Do you feel pain only during sex, or also afterward?
Has this pain always been there, or did it start recently?
Please answer these questions, and I will guide you step by step.
I hope my answer is clear to you, and if you need any details at any time, I am here and at your service.
Thank you.
