Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My friend is 25 years old. She suffers from PCOS and irregular periods for two years. I want to know some natural remedies that would help her to regulate her periods regularly. She is not taking any medications for PCOS and planning to get married soon. Will this PCOS and irregular period affect her fertility in the future?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I have gone through your case and I understand your concern. PCOS is very common these days, especially in the young population. Irregular periods, scanty menses, acne excessive weight gain, these things are commonly seen in PCOS. Usually, PCOS cycles are anovulatory means it does not release an egg, so there could be some problems in her fertility. But it is not always, she might get pregnant without any interventions, even if the cycle is anovulatory, and can be easily managed with regular follicular study and ovulation induction. Weight and PCOS are correlated to each other, so she should maintain her weight within BMI with regular exercise and diet modification, which helps a lot with PCOS.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
