Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 22 years old, and my penis size when it is flaccid is 1 inch. When it is erect, it is around 5 inches, and the width is too thin. My body weight is 57, and I also have a curve in my penis. In the flaccid state, it moves to the left side, and when it is erect, it moves upward.
I want to know whether my penis can grow in the flaccid state with time or not.
I want to know whether the width can increase with body weight or not.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Penis size and shape vary widely between individuals, and your erect length of around five inches falls well within the normal range. Flaccid size is highly variable and depends on factors like temperature, anxiety, and muscle tone; it does not reliably predict erect size. With age, once puberty is complete, usually by 18 to 20 years, a significant natural increase in penis length or width does not occur.
Gaining body weight may make the penis appear slightly larger by reducing the fat pad at the base, but it does not truly increase penile width or length. An upward or mild sideward curve during erection is also common and usually normal if there is no pain or difficulty with sexual function.
If size or curvature causes significant psychological distress or functional problems, options exist. Non-surgical methods like traction devices may offer modest benefits for selected individuals, while vacuum pumps cause only temporary swelling.
Surgical options, such as suspensory ligament release for length or grafting or fillers for girth, are considered only after careful evaluation, as they carry risks and are not routinely recommended for men with normal erections and size. Avoid methods that do not work, such as jelqing, pills, oils, or gadgets, as they lack evidence and may cause harm.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
