Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

There was a small blister on the head of my penis which burst the next day and oozed out pus. Also, a red dot resembling an injury is also present above it. After ejaculation, the red injury-like thing spread all over the right side of my penis head. What could it be? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Kindly share a picture of the affected area. If there was unprotected sex, then one needs to think about sexually transmitted infections for which the following tests can be done:

  1. TPHA (Treponema pallidum hemagglutination).
  2. HPV (human papillomavirus) DNA PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test.
  3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgG (immunoglobulin G).
  4. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgM (immunoglobulin M) serum.
  5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.
  6. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) one and two antibodies, screening test.
  7. HbsAg (Hepatitis B surface antigen).
  8. Urine complete.

If not, it could be a simple bacterial infection for which I suggest you use the ointment T-Bact (Mupirocin) locally and take a tablet of Doxy (Doxycycline) 100 mg twice a day for five days.

If there is itching, then you need to think of a fungal infection for which you can use the ointment Beclometasone plus Clotrimazole (Candid B) locally and for itching you can take the tablet Cetirizine hydrochloride (Cetzin) once at night.

Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day in the morning and at night. Use normal water and do not use cold or hot water. Do not use a soap containing heavy pH.

Thank you for your trust in me.
