Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex with a sex worker after which I developed rashes on my penis. I tested negative for all the sexually transmitted diseases but my rashes have not gone. Are these rashed related to HIV?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for the query.

If the HIV antibodies test after 90 days of exposure is negative as mentioned, then it is conclusive provided there is no further risk exposure. There is no need for further HIV tests.

The symptoms are likely due to fungal infection as your doctor has mentioned. Follow the treatment as advised by your treating doctor. This is not related to HIV.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thank you for the follow up query.

CMIA (Chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay) is an HIV antibody test.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
