Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 30-year-old male, 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weigh 165 pounds. I do not smoke or consume alcohol. Lately, I have been experiencing a mild, persistent itching sensation on the top part of my penis. Although it is not severe, it is consistently present. Could you please suggest a remedy and medication for this issue?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Before I can provide you with specific recommendations for the itch, could you please provide some additional details?

  1. How long have you been dealing with this itching sensation?
  2. Are you circumcised? If not, do you face any challenges in retracting the skin over your penis?
  3. Do you have a history of diabetes or hypertension?
  4. Have you noticed any rashes or spots on your penis?
  5. Have you engaged in any unprotected intercourse recently?
  6. Kindly provide these details.

    Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

  1. I have been experiencing this itching sensation for almost 3-4 months.
  2. I am not circumcised, but I do not have any difficulty pulling back the skin of my penis.
  3. I am not diabetic or hypertensive.
  4. I have not engaged in any recent intercourse.

Additionally, after urination, I feel that my urine discharge is not fully completed, and there is a lingering sensation. Please help.

Answered by Dr. Madhav Tiwari

Hello again,

Thank you for providing more details.

Based on your situation, I would suggest you undergo the following tests:

  1. Urine routine and microscopy.
  2. Semen culture and sensitivity.
  3. Uroflowmetry.
  4. Ultrasound KUB (kidney, ureter and bladder).
  5. Kindly share a few photos of the area experiencing itching.

    Some additional questions:

    1. Do you masturbate regularly? If so, does it hurt when ejaculation occurs?
    2. Do you experience any burning sensation during urination?
    3. For temporary relief, I am prescribing an ointment for local application. Kindly use Surfaz SN (Clotrimazole, Neomycin, and Betamethasone) ointment twice a day for 3-5 days. After this period, review the results of the tests and provide answers to the additional questions.

If you have any concerns or further questions, feel free to reach out.

      Thank you.
