Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My friend had trouble breathing for two weeks and when she visited the local hospital it was discovered that she had water in her lungs. She did smoke cigarettes before being diagnosed with water in her lungs, and she has received pills for the same. Today she had an appointment with a lung specialist but I do not understand why they did not give a referral for a bigger hospital but have given her a venti max inhalation pump which does not relieve her shortness of breath. She stopped smoking after the diagnosis. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern The water in the lungs can be due to infection, or cardiac reasons. Ideally, the water in the lungs (pleural fluid) should be treated unless it naturally resolves on its own. Take the prescribed medication as advised to remove the water and alleviate symptoms. The inhalation pump will help relax the lungs and make breathing easier.

I hope this helps you.

Regards
