Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a tooth extraction before a week. I had bleeding for a week and it got stopped. Before two days, I waked up with the bleeding but it has not stopped till now.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the query. Bleeding after a tooth extraction usually stops within an hour. We suture the wound to reduce bleeding. But having bleeding for more than a day suggests an issue. You can have diabetes or hypertension or any bleeding disorder. It has to be ruled out. Kindly attach the image of the extracted site. I want to see the bleeding area. You can take tablet Ethamsylate one tablet on an SOS (save our soul) basis. Take the medicine as soon as possible to stop the bleeding.

Apply cold water or small ice cubes and hold them gently over the area. It helps to stop the bleeding. You need to do some blood tests such as BT (bleeding time), CT (clotting time), PT (prothrombin time), aPTT (activated partial thromboplastin time), and TT (thrombin time). You need to evaluate your blood sugar and blood pressure to eliminate hypertension. Kindly upload the image of the area as soon as possible.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
