Can precum exposure lead to pregnancy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My girlfriend touched my precum with the back of her hand. Later, after 10 minutes she was washing a cup and some soap water came in contact with her hands. There was no sexual intercourse. I was just touching myself and then touched her hand that is how she had precum fluid. I ejaculated three hours before she came to my house.

Is there any chance she can get pregnant if her hand touched her vagina while she was cleaning up after urinating? We both are worried about it. And, Is 50 minutes to 1 hour enough to dry out precum fluid especially if it has some sperm from my last masturbation?

Please help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

My straight answer to your question is as follows

1. In such a scenario there is no chance for pregnancy. Even if she fingered her vagina while washing the concentration of sperm in semen falls below the threshold.

2. It is more than enough to dry out the precum. Even 5 to 10 minutes is enough.

I hope this answers you. Feel free to write back if you have more questions.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor, thank you so much for the reply.

So 5 to 10 minutes is enough to dry out precum or sperm even if she did not wash her hands with water and soap? She came into contact with some soap water while washing a cup. She told me her hands were dry and there was nothing on her hands.

Though I am sure there was a little bit because I touched her hand while I was touching my penis. Please suggest.

Thank you.
