Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My due date for delivery is in the month of August. But my doctor has scheduled the C-section for the month of July. I am confused as the baby will be immature. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

The gestational age of the baby will not change as per weeks of pregnancy. If you have had a scan in early pregnancy, say 6 or 10 weeks, that is the perfect age. Go as per that expected delivery date. Any day after 37 weeks of age is okay. By then baby is fully grown and will have the capability to survive on its own.

Kindly rule out uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension and get it corrected.

I suggest you do a scan with Doppler. This can rule out any growth restriction of the baby. You can continue the pregnancy till the baby has a normal Doppler. Keep an eye on the baby's movement. You should have at least 12 movements per day.

Hope I have been of help to you.

All the best.

Thanks and regards.
