How to maintain modelling career with psoriasis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 34 and my psoriasis has turned my modeling career upside down. I have been dealing with it for 3 years, but makeup artists refuse to work with me now because my face and neck are covered in thick scales. Photoshoots are impossible because the hot lights make my skin flare up and bleed. My agent dropped me off last week after I could not finish a shoot because of joint pain. My knees and ankles feel like they are being stabbed. I tried Cyclosporine, but my kidney numbers went weird (creatinine 1.9). I am using expensive creams but they just slide off because my skin weeps this yellow fluid. I got these weird dents in all my fingernails and my hair is falling out in clumps. My last biologic (Secukinumab) worked great but insurance would not cover it anymore. I need help saving my career.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder. Relax and make yourself stress-free as stress is a big contributing factor.

  1. Moisturize skin frequently.

  2. Apply Physiogel Hypoallergic lotion twice daily for two weeks.

  3. Apply Venusia Max cream twice daily for two weeks.

  4. Apply Topisal 3 percent ointment at night for two weeks.

  5. Psoracare soap for baths for two months.

  6. Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, zinc, vitamins A and C, and omega-3 fatty acids.

I hope this helps.

Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.

Thank you.
