Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 18-years-old. My height is 175 centimeters. A few months ago a purple or pink spot developed on the shaft of my penis. Now it has spread to part of the head and around more of the shaft. It feels like it stopped spreading. Please help me.

  3. Have you gone through any previous treatment?

  4. Do you suffer from excess scratching and rubbing?

  5. Improper hygiene?

  6. Do you suffer from aggravation of itching at night?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

  1. I do have a history of atopy. I have had all sorts of skin allergies and dermatitis before. Right now, I have a kind of eczema on one of my fingers, and I went to a dermatologist. It is being treated with a topical steroid.

  2. This has never happened before.

  3. Previous treatment taken? - None.

  4. Excess scratching and rubbing? -Not really.

  5. Improper hygiene? - I shower once to twice daily.

  6. Night aggravation of itching? - At night, it does tend to itch a bit more, but lately, it has not been itching.

Also, to add to everything I have said, I had unprotected sex a little less than a year before this all started.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.

I do understand your concern.

It appears to be balanitis (possible cause could be allergic or infective).Get a swab test done to confirm the diagnosis. Follow up with reports. Get all sexually transmitted disease panel tests done. Also, get a urine routine or culture test done with sensitivity testing. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below:

  1. Practice safe sex. Use barriers.

  2. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions.

  3. Avoid friction.

  4. Wear loose, comfortable thin cotton inners.

  5. Wash the area with lukewarm water. Gently pat dry with a soft towel and then apply low-potency steroids like Desonide cream or one percent Hydrocortisone cream at night for 10 days.

  6. Keep the area clean and dry.

  7. Maintain proper genital hygiene.

Regards.
