Will using mobile phones cause pain in brain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 23 years old, my height is 6 feet, weight is 121.25 lb. When I use the mobile phone, I feel pain in my brain but when I do not use the mobile phone, I feel normal. But when I use mobile I feel malaise and because of it, sleep does not come to me at night. I used to take medicines for this problem at that time. When I was taking medicine, sleep was coming daily at night on time but nowadays sleep is not coming to me at night or at day.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. You should know that short conversations on the phone are not harmful to the brain. But, long conversations can lead to altered brain function (abnormal waves in EEG). For this reason, I would recommend avoiding prolonged use of the phone. I would also recommend trying Melatonin 5 mg before sleep every night for a month.
