Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I think I may have a rectal prolapse. I receive anal sex often and have to strain to poop. A small mass protrudes when I am on the toilet, squatting, or straining. Sometimes will come out on its own unless I clench my anus.
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com
I understand your concern.
The symptoms and the photographs (attachments removed to protect patient identity) you have shared seem to be due to rectal prolapse. It needs intervention so kindly meet a general surgeon or a Gastro-surgeon who will evaluate your condition and give you proper treatment for the same. Till that time kindly do the following :
Avoid anal sex.
Do not strain during defecation.
Do not avoid this condition kindly seek advice from a surgeon on an urgent basis.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.
Regards.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Are you entirely sure it is a rectal prolapse? Is there any chance of it resolving on its own because I do not necessarily have the funds to go to a surgeon at the time? If not treated, will it get even larger? It recently grew, and I am just nervous as to how big it can get.
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com
I understand your concern.
All the photographs you have shared (attachments removed to protect patient identity) point towards rectal prolapse. With time it will increase in size if not intervened early. So kindly take this condition seriously, and at least visit a general surgeon to get it examined and early intervention will reduce the chances of complications.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.
Regards.
Thank you.
