Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had a red area and thin skin around the anus, in the perineum area, and above the anus for the past 15 months. What could it be? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. It could be frictional dermatitis. Please share a clinical picture for further diagnosis. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I have shared the picture. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I reviewed your picture (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It is frictional dermatitis with superficial fungal infection. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have shared the picture. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below. Apply 1 percent Luliconazole cream (topical antifungal) twice daily for four weeks. Apply Miconazole cream (topical antifungal) in the evening for four weeks. Take Tablet Levocetirizine (antihistamine) 5 mg at night after food for seven days. Wash the affected area with Ketoconazole (antifungal) soap for two months. Avoid scratching and rubbing lesions. Wear loose, comfortable thin cotton inners or clothes. Avoid friction or occlusion. Keep the area clean. Avoid activities that cause sweating. Stay in a well-ventilated room or relaxed environment. Apply T-bact cream (2 % Mupirocin) after bath for one month. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply. I have a question, will there be a problem if I do a laser hair removal for this area now, or will there be a damage? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not undergo laser treatment, as laser is not recommended in an active infection site. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
