Why am I feeling RLS sensations in my arms?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have had restless leg syndrome for approximately 20 years, but I feel as though it is worsening if that is possible. At times, it seems as if my arms are experiencing the same sensations as my legs. Additionally, either when I am falling into a deep sleep or just dozing off, the lower half of my body jerks so forcefully that it wakes me up, often leaving me feeling startled and scared.
Please guide.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for posting your query.
I am sorry to hear about your medical condition, and I appreciate that you are paying close attention to the changes in your body. However, please do not worry, as I am here to assist you.
Regarding your symptoms and the diagnosis of restless leg syndrome, there is not much you can do beyond taking medication to manage the condition. The involuntary movements of your arms and legs may extend to other muscles in the body. To control these spasms or contractions, the use of a muscle relaxant is recommended.
I see that you are already taking the medications prescribed by your physician. Please continue taking them for one month, as they will help control the involuntary body movements and improve your sleep quality at night.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out by scheduling a direct appointment or following up via chat, phone, or video consultation.
Please let me know if you want some help.
Thank you.
