Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am eight weeks pregnant, and my rubella IgG test is positive. This is my second pregnancy, and I had a miscarriage in my first pregnancy during the second trimester. What should I do?

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I suggest you repeat the rubella titer test after four to six weeks. If it is not rising, then no need to worry. It means no active infection, and you are immune; nothing is to be done. I have a few questions regarding your previous pregnancy and miscarriage.

1. Was your labor painful?

2. Was there any water bag leakage during pregnancy?

3. What is your blood group?

4. Was there any blood group incompatibility issues?

5. Do you had any other medical problems (high blood pressure, high blood sugar level, or abnormal thyroid function)?

6. Do you had any urinary or kidney infections?

7. What was the cervical length in the last ultrasound at around 20 weeks?

Get an early pregnancy ultrasound and all your blood tests (complete blood count, thyroid function, fasting blood sugar level, urine routine and culture, HIV, HBsAg, VDRL, and hemoglobinopathies) done in this pregnancy. Then, kindly follow up after all these tests.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
