I have been on compounded Semaglutide from a weight management clinic for six months and have lost 45 pounds. However, for the past 17 days, I have developed severe, constant hiccups, literally every few seconds while awake. The side effects have become unbearable, causing chest pain, sleep deprivation, and negatively impacting my job performance. I have visited the ER multiple times and tried every treatment imaginable, with no relief. One doctor mentioned possible vagus nerve irritation from the medication, but was not certain.

Meanwhile, the clinic insists it must be an unrelated coincidence. I am reading online about similar cases linked to brand-name versions of Semaglutide. In simple terms, could this medication be affecting the nerves that control the diaphragm? Should I discontinue it immediately or taper off? I am looking for experienced insight into managing this debilitating and unusual complication.
