Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

She is a very brilliant kid. She attended her online classes for one year. This year she is supposed to attend her offline school. Her brother is studying in grade 4 in the same school. She is in grade 1. She expects either me to sit with her or she stays calm when she sits with her brother. Her teachers and we tried our level best, but we could not. She suffers from sinus headaches often. She is lean and tall for her age. She is active and playful. Unfortunately, she has binge eating habits too.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for taking help from a psychiatrist. I can understand your situation. She is suffering from separation anxiety. You need to take her to the nearest therapist as she may need sessions. Meanwhile, you can try to follow the below guideline to help her. Initially, you should stay with her at school. Then gradually decrease the time to sit with her. Sit out of her class but make sure that she can see you. After a few days, stay and assure her you are at school. Further, decrease the period of waiting at school. It is a long process of four to six months.

I hope that you get my point. Please let me know if you want some help.
