Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I feel my libido and erections are low. I was taking Clomiphene citrate for six months and in the beginning, I had high libido and syring erections. It mellowed out so I decided to get it off and take 200 mg of topical Testosterone, I have to run on my scrotum daily. I have been doing it for 12 days my question is I still feel low libido and weak erections. When does the testosterone start to kick in and I feel the effects? Also, I would like to know if I stop Clomiphene citrate and start taking topical Testosterone, could the Testosterone drop for a bit while switching? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. What was your current status of testosterone level, as erection and libido do not completely depend on testosterone level? Its effects can take two to three months to get to work. Kindly connect with details for further assistance.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. It was 437 mg while taking Clomiphene citrate then I stopped taking it and started topical Testosterone and it was 200 mg that input on my scrotum daily. I just remember my sexual desire and libido being so high when first started Clomiphene citrate and now I do not have it anymore. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Clomiphene citrate is used as an enhancer of testosterone level and it helps in infertility, if there is no primary hypogonadis. In your case, you do not have primary hypogonadism. I would suggest you continue Clomiphene citrate to regain testosterone level doubling up. Stop using topical Testosterone as it has direct side effects. Other things to be considered are diet therapy, exercise, and meditation.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.
