Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
For as long as I can remember, I get this insane burst of energy, and it happens pretty much throughout the day, and to release that energy, I do a variety of things. Sometimes, I have to shake my hands around my face, press my hands onto my face or my closed eyes, cover and shake my hands, and control my breathing. It is one of those things that I assumed most people do, but after talking to others, it seems it is rare. Is this a common thing that happens to most people? Kindly help.
Kindly advise.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
You may describe a form of sensory-seeking behavior, which some people do to regulate their sensory input or manage their energy levels. While it is not uncommon, the specific variations you mentioned might be unique to you. Everyone has different ways of coping with energy bursts or sensory needs. It is generally alright if it does not interfere with your daily life or cause distress. However, if you are concerned about it or it impacts your functioning, you must consult your nearest psychiatrist for a detailed evaluation.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
