Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I recently had an intolerance test, which identified several items. I suffer from severe sinus pressure and headaches. Despite undergoing surgeries, receiving Botox treatments, and taking medications, I have not found relief. I have noticed that certain triggers, such as carbonated drinks and chocolate, cause immediate symptoms. Could you provide insight into whether these identified items might be contributing to my condition? Aspirin typically helps, which suggests an inflammatory issue.
The items identified in my test include cashew nuts, sulfite caramel, isomalt, helium, water reed (Phragmites communis), and metals such as magnesium, palladium, and tin (from canned food).
Please suggest.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
We need to conduct a sinus CT (computed tomography) scan and nasal endoscopy to rule out sinus issues. Do you have any of these results? If so, please upload them and get back to me.
What type of test did you undergo to identify the substances you are intolerant to? Was it a blood allergy test, a skin prick test, or another type of test? We are particularly concerned about respiratory aeroallergens rather than food allergens given your symptoms. Additionally, could you provide details about any previous nasal surgery you had? When you respond, please include information about the surgery and any related investigations performed before and after the procedure.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
