What could cause skin peeling on the palms?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have peeling skin on my left palm that feels rough and calloused and seems to be spreading. It started about a month ago. The area burns, and it keeps peeling around the edges. I have the same condition on the soles of my one foot. Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I do understand your concern.
It appears to be eczematous dermatoses. I suggest you the following treatment:
-
Apply Liquid paraffin lotion during the daytime for 15 days and Olesoft (Sodium lactate and Sodium pyrrolidone carboxylic acid) cream twice daily for two weeks.
-
Do not scratch or rub the lesions.
-
Moisturize the skin frequently.
-
Take a tablet of Zinc 110 mg once a day after dinner for 30 days.
-
Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, zinc, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids.
-
Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
-
Avoid extreme weather conditions.
-
Avoid contact with harsh soaps or detergents.
-
Use a mild soap for the bath.
-
Avoid prolonged contact with water.
-
Reduce exposure to irritants.
-
Avoid stress.
Kindly follow up with images for prompt diagnosis. I hope this will help you.
Thank you.
