Solar retinopathy is photochemical toxicity caused due to injury to the retinal tissues, especially at the fovea. It is also known as foveo macular retinitis, photic retinopathy, solar retinitis, and eclipse retinopathy. The commonly seen symptoms are blurry vision, micropsia, metamorphopsia, dyschromatopsia, blindspot in one or both eyes, decreased visual acuity, and frontotemporal headache.
