Tail Bone

The tail bone or coccyx is the last portion of the spine below the sacrum. The bones are arranged in a triangular pattern. The tail bone helps in bearing weight in a sitting position. Three to five different bones are joined together by ligaments to form the tail bone. The trauma to this bone usually occurs due to a backward fall in a sitting position.
