How to treat persistent right lumbar and testicle pain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 20-years-old and experiencing a mild burning sensation in my right lumbar region, along with mild, irritating pain in my right testicle. Could this be related to liver or kidney issues? I have undergone a sonography, which showed no abnormalities, but the symptoms persist. What could be the cause?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I am sorry to hear about your medical condition, but I am glad you are being proactive and paying attention to changes in your body. Do not worry, I am here to support you. Based on your symptoms, I believe you may have developed lumbar spondylitis, which is an inflammatory arthritis of the spine affecting the nerve supply to your genitalia and causing inflammation around the testicles. This condition is not related to the kidneys or liver.

To further evaluate your condition, please undergo an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the spine and share the results with me. In the meantime, I recommend the following treatment to help manage your symptoms:

  1. Celecoxib (200 mg) – 2 tablets by mouth (PO), twice daily for 2 weeks,
  2. Ciprofloxacin (500 mg) – 2 tablets by mouth (PO), twice daily for 10 days,
  3. Neurogesic cream (0.1 percent) – apply topically, twice daily for 1 month.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further concerns or questions by scheduling a direct appointment or following up via chat, phone, or video consultation.

I hope I have answered your query.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
