Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I got vaccinated yesterday morning, and in the evening, I got chills and fever, and today whole body is tired. I am also a diabetic patient. Can you please tell me what to do and what to eat?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I am glad you got your shot. Do not worry. It is a normal immune response to feel slight tiredness and have a slight fever and body ache.
1) Please go ahead and take tablet Tylenol 500 mg (Acetaminophen) every six hours as needed for your body ache and fever.
2) Drink plenty of fluids and take it easy for the next couple of days.
3) Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits.
4) If you are just on oral diabetic medication, take it as prescribed.
5) If you are on Insulin, monitor your blood sugar more frequently than recommended or before giving yourself the injection.
6) If you start having any other symptoms like high fever not coming down with medicine, severe headache, difficulty breathing, or chest pain, please call for an emergency.
7) Take care, and I hope you feel better soon. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
