How to treat vaginal infection and discharge?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had a light green discharge yesterday, and I noticed it was not normal. When I searched online, I found that it could be an infection. I have not had intercourse, but there was one time when I cleaned my private area with wipes and also used feminine wash because I thought it might be a yeast infection. However, my partner did perform oral sex on me, and he sanitized his hands first, or perhaps the alcohol caused irritation to the tissue of my private area.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I am very sorry about your medical condition, and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body's system. But do not worry, I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, I strongly believe you have developed a bacterial vaginosis caused by a bacteria vaginalis. Please do a high vaginal and endo cervical swab test and reply to me with the result. Please take the following:

  1. Tablets Co-Amoxiclav 625 mg (milligram) twice orally for two weeks.

  2. Metronidazole 400 mg thrice orally for two weeks.

  3. Injection Ceftriaxone 1g (gram).

I hope this helps.

Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.

Thank you.
