Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I recently had unprotected sex, and now I have noticed an unusual vaginal discharge. It has a slightly green color and a foul odor, which is different from my normal discharge. I am currently on a contraceptive implant. I am feeling worried because this was my first time having casual sex in the past two years. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
It seems like you may be experiencing a mixed infection, possibly due to friction or minor injuries during intercourse. This is relatively common.
If your partner is not well known to you, it is advisable to get a sexually transmitted disease (STD) panel test to rule out any infections.
In the meantime, you can follow these steps for relief and management.
Clean your vaginal area regularly with a gentle vaginal wash.
Insert Clingen vaginal tablets – One tablet per day for three days.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
Medications (for seven days).
Capsule Itraconazole 200 mg – Take one capsule per day.
Capsule Doxycycline – Take one capsule twice on the first day, then one capsule per day from the second day onward.
Tablet Bilastine – Take one tablet per day (this is an antihistamine to reduce any allergic or inflammatory response).
If symptoms persist or worsen, please consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation and possible adjustments to your treatment.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
