I recently had unprotected sex and now I am experiencing some troubling symptoms, including sores on my genitals, a rash on my hands and feet, and swollen lymph nodes. I am worried I might have contracted a sexually transmitted infection, possibly syphilis or gonorrhea. My recent blood work showed elevated white blood cells and a positive VDRL (venereal disease research laboratory) test. What steps should I take next for a confirmed diagnosis and treatment? Are there any specific treatments for syphilis and gonorrhea that I should consider?
