Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a stinging sensation on the right side of my labia minora, but there is no white discharge.
I have not had sex for ten months now. I got a new sex partner, and we had unprotected sex last week. Should I be worried?
Kindly guide.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I am very sorry about your medical condition, and I am glad that it is good that you are paying attention to changes in your body.
Regarding your symptoms, I believe you may have developed vulvovaginitis, an inflammatory disease of the vulva and vagina, possibly due to an asymptomatic bacterial infection. Secondly, you need to be concerned about pregnancy if the sex is unprotected.
Did you take any emergency contraceptive pills after the sexual experience?
Please do a high vaginal and endo-cervical swab test and reply to me with the result. Meanwhile, please take the following:
Take two tablets of Amoxicillin 500mg plus clavulanic acid 125 mg, twice daily, for one week.
Take two tablets of Metronidazole 400 mg, thrice daily, for one week.
I hope this is helpful.
Thank you.
