Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have attached the reports of CT (Computed Tomography) and biopsy tests of my mouth. Kindly assess my report.

Thanks.

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com.

As per the biopsy and CT (computed tomography) scan report, you have likely developed a verrucous carcinoma or cancer, in other words, a lesion that might be potentially malignant or cancerous. But as per the report and my interpretation, you should not panic and get one more biopsy done at your local diagnostic center or consult your maxillofacial surgeon in person to discuss the treatment plan and prognosis of the cancerous lesion. As they have mentioned the word likely in the report, it means that as per the microscopic features, the most probability exists that the lesion is malignant. If you get a biopsy again and a second opinion, you can be treated immediately through surgical excision of the lesion without further delay. Though the possibility is 40% from the microscopy report that it may not be a malignant cancerous lesion, it still shows well-defined features. It is better to be surgically excised. Also, note that it may be a case of verrucous hyperplasia, meaning it may be simply a lesion to turn cancerous but is not cancerous yet. But this probability can happen only if you get a deep brush biopsy done. Please remain calm and consult again with a maxillofacial surgeon who will examine your lesion in the clinic and excise it.

Regards.
