Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a white and yellowish circular patch at the back of my throat. I thought it could be due to a throat infection, and it has not healed. It is not hard or raised like a tonsil stone like an enclosed area of puss. I am concerned about its increase in size. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

The white, yellowish circular patch at the back of your throat can be due to oral candidiasis. I suggest you follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Get a throat swab test done.
  2. Take a tablet of Prednisone 4mg orally twice daily.
  3. Take a capsule of Piroxicam 40mg four times daily.
  4. Take a tablet of Metronidazole 400mg thrice daily.
  5. Take a capsule of Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin) 625mg twice daily.
  6. Take a tablet of Ketoconazole 200mg four times daily.
  7. Take a tablet of Acyclovir 800mg four times daily.

Kindly inform us if there was any previous history of fever, throat infection, neck swelling, ear discharge, or rhinitis. Consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
