Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My tooth has had white lesions for many years. They have no other symptoms. However, an OPG one year ago revealed a dark spot in the white lesion area. I went to the dentist to check my teeth, but they explained nothing about it. Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
These are incipient caries (beginning stage arrested caries) or sometimes, in the radiographic modality, just a misnomer or overlapped lesions. Do you have any cavitation or any pain or sensitivity in that molar now that you are experiencing?
And by white, do you mean that there is any white spot visibly on that molar? If that is not there, then there is nothing to worry about. Just use a remineralization toothpaste if none of these symptoms are present.
Let me know which of the above symptoms or clinical features you are noticing first. Based on that, I will suggest the remedies and ways to arrest the caries process.
I hope this information will help you.
Kindly revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
