Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had a surgical removal of wisdom teeth and cyst before one week. I have mild tingling sensation in the lower jaw for the past two days. I did root canal in the adjacent tooth before five years. I took CT (Computed Tomography) scan and eat Renerve Plus capsules. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is been a week after your surgery, by now you should be alright. A mild tingling sensation indicates that the jaw nerve is still vital but it needs to be revitalized by antibiotics and antioxidant therapy. Send me your reports so that I can suggest medications.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

My reports are with the doctor. He told me it is a nerve damage due to nerve exposure during surgery, which can regenerate in one or two months. There is no difficulty while eating or speaking. I have numbness in the chin, lower lip, and lower teeth in the right side with mild pain. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Third molar extraction causes numbness and injury of the inferior alveolar nerve supplying the lower jaw. Follow the below steps: I suggest tablet Neurobion Forte (vitamin B complex) once daily for three months. Do mouth exercises like opening and closing as wide as possible. Gargle with warm salt water several times a day to prevent oral infections. Review after one week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
