Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
About a week ago, I noticed a dry patch of skin on my penis in the form of a circular area. It was flaky. Then, yesterday, I observed that the skin peeled off, revealing shiny skin underneath. Besides the visual appearance, I do not experience any discomfort such as itching or burning. I believe I encountered this condition a long time ago, more than two years ago. I am currently taking Tamsulosin HCL 0.4mg tablets.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Based on the information and photos provided (attachments removed to protect patient's identity), it does not appear to be anything serious. It seems to be a case of xerosis, which is dry skin. There is no need to worry. I suggest you to use a moisturizer and apply it two to three times daily on the affected area. Additionally, you can use a cream of Hydrocortisone 1% in a very small quantity on the rash at night for a duration of a week. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him/her and take the medicines with their consent.
Thank you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.
