Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have recently been diagnosed with Peyronie's disease, and my doctor has recommended Xiaflex (collagenase Clostridium histolyticum) as part of the treatment plan. I am curious about how Xiaflex works and what outcomes I can expect in addressing the symptoms of Peyronie's Disease. Are there any potential side effects or considerations I should be aware of during this treatment? I want to make informed decisions about my health. Any insights or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Xiaflex (collagenase Clostridium histolyticum) contains enzymes that break down the collagen responsible for the scar tissue. Inject Xiaflex is given directly into the plaque in your penis. Perform a procedure to model and stretch the penis, which helps straighten it. The outcome is a reduction in curvature. The side effects include local reactions (allergic), penile fractures, or other injuries to the penis during the modeling procedure.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards
