What is the treatment for yeast infection?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a yeast infection, and I used candid B like I usually do, but this time, it stopped for a day or two and started to itch and burn. I believe there are cuts. Every time I pee it burns, what would you recommend I do?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It sounds uncomfortable, and it is important to take care of yourself. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Stay Clean and Dry: Keep the area clean and dry. Avoid using any harsh soaps or scented products.

2. Over-the-Counter Treatments: You might try over-the-counter antifungal creams or treatments specifically for yeast infections if you have not already.

3. Hydration: Drink plenty of water to help dilute your urine, which may ease the burning sensation when you pee.

4. Avoid Irritants: Try to avoid tight clothing and irritating fabrics, as well as any products that could further irritate the area.

5. Soothing Relief: Consider using a topical soothing cream or aloe vera to help with the burning and irritation.

If the symptoms persist or worsen, it is really important to find a way to see a healthcare professional. If you cannot go to a doctor, maybe a trusted adult or a school nurse could help you find a solution. Your health is important, and there are options available even if it feels challenging.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
